being right takes too long

the famed sushi island finally 
at the most random location, a tiny store front in little italy 
but omfg, amazing ayce sushi 
i usually dont like shirmp tempura too much, but this place was the best, freshest with the least excess batter
too bad we ordered so much that i can barely remeber how everything tasted 



such a good way of doing yam tempura!

we always tend to order way to much. this is prob half of it 








after spending hours looking at books

sat lunch with him at a vegetarian place in the annex 

loved this idea of putting water in retro milk bottles with a slice of lemon 

i kinda wanna just do this all the time now

the waitress looked at me like i was anorexic 
truth is, i actually just ate lunch at home

so while she looked through everything, i promptly fell back asleep

idle-ness doenst particularily suit me
i've pretty much been extremely bored whenever at home this week
esp since day time tv sucks
neverthe less, it was amazing to spend the week doing absolutely nothing
except of course, shopping and seeing my favourite girls - wish i have pictures!

still, i am passing through

lately our dates have been kinda aimless
so on saturday we pretty much just walked around downtown to enjoy the nice weather
even though the sky looked like it was gonna rain soon
the temperature was still good, and it felt a lot like summer

we ended up in liberty village,
a little west of bathrust and king area

balzac's cafe

(the only reason i remembered the name is cause i .. googled)

its in the building of an old toy factory that's been converted into lofts

i cant say how good the coffee was because my knowledge in the area is largely from tim hortons 

but the cafe was absolutely gorgeous

except.. residents prob would've called crime stoppers on me 






i loved that this old bank was now a restaurant 
i also loved the chandeliers

everyone around there seemed to have a dog

this was hoarders, turned into a store
except everything packed in here was actually really interesting
from chandelier beads to old school recording microphones to paintings
it really had it all



my original plan was to embark on a cupcake tour
but due to my shopping addiction (thanks bee!), things were a bit delayed 
and only one bakery was visited
it was called "for the love of cake"
and i was kinda disappointed with how small it was, and expected more variety 
it was definitely more of a order place 



the two cupcakes we had were still very good
this is an almond one with a blackberry and blackberry filling

not sure if there was a filling 
hopefully there's lots more cupcakes to come 


being home has been sorta.. underwhelming
it seems that all i do is eat and sleep
and im feeling very lethargic

im also feeling a bit displaced
is it weird for a long distance relationship to suddenly become.. not long distance?


on the to do list:
- see my fav girls, pronto
- try out sushi island
- put up my clothes for sale. any $ would be lovely
- shop shop shop and put some color in my wardrobe. no more blacks!

his birthday was on Wednesday
and after hearing everyone RAVE about guu
we decided to head there for the birthday dinner

the infamous 1+ hour wait is definitely true
luckily the nice weather allowed us to sit on the patio and sip some drinks
def helped the wait pass faster


i wanted to chew on that leaf, i really did 
(bamboo and melon cocktails)


for those of you who know me,
ease-dropping is my #1 hobby
so obviously i people watched and creeped on conversation
interestingly, lots of people were return customers
and one guy came with a party of.. 14, stating that he'd been there a couple of times already

overall a great experience
the atmosphere of the place was great
you cant help but smile and shout along and wave to strangers
id love to know what theyre shouting exactly though

would def recommend this place,
and i'd love to go back
id say going with a bigger group would be really fun cause you'd get to order more and try more
and if your bf is hesitant on eating thing like octopus or raw fish?
ignore him and order it anyways!

spent that amazing day wandering around downtown
came across this pair of marc by marc jacobs shades that i loved
but it just didnt feel right buying them just yet
esp in the face of my massive visa bill
i dread the 10th of every month, seriously

by the time we walked our way to little itlay, we were both starving
had the best paninis, def would recommend
as we relaxed in the cozy restaurant
the weather outside got increasingly worse
but we were determined to get gelato as planned
and thank god we did
my first time trying pistachio gelato was a def success
cant wait for summer to come around so i can get more

walked to christie st after to head back uptown,
and it was honestly like the end of the world
i dont know if any of you guys remember that night
but holy
walking through the tiny neighbourhood street
with the banging garbage bin lids
i thought it was a hurricane
wish i took some pictures
it was nice of him to block wind for me =)

im gonna update soon with the names of the restaurant and gelato place
honestly, when im with him i just give up on any attempts at navigation

done most of my finals
will actually learning about all the fascinating diseases in my immunology class
def planning on doing a minor in it at the very least
one more next wednesday
so coming home for a bit
cant wait till summer!

didnt actually make it to the fashion show
but the after party was just as good
esp since it gave me a chance to take the f21 dress out for a spin
i hate that being out of town for schools results in me missing out on all the nice clothes
so this dress was def a grab and hold on for dear life moment


got the cutest stuffed animal from him
i dont know how mustaches became our thing, but i guess its stuck now
lol and no i dont know what hes looking at

i'm having mixed feelings about the rain
being splashed by cars and getting wet is def not fun
but i kinda love the way everything smells after the rain
plus, it makes staying inside so much more attractive
which hopefully will induce some studying

last class of sophmore year tomorrow!
cant believe this year is actually over
thinking back, this year was actually incredible
but, lets through finals first?
